    TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL WESTERN CONFERENCE ON BRITISH STUDIES

    Papers are needed to fill out a panel devoted to early modern England. The
    papers already selected for the panel deal with John Speed as historian,
    cartographer and artist, and the coinage of British queens Mary and
    Elizabeth.

    Please submit a brief abstract (200 words) of your paper, and a brief
    bio (1-2 pages) by April 8, 2001 to Wendy Maier at MM6126@aol.com. Attached
    files should be produced in WORD (1997 version or later). It may be wise to
    cut and paste the text of your abstract into the e-mail message as well.
