The Association for Canadian Jewish Studies, in conjunction with the
Association of Canadian College and University Teachers of English, is
soliciting papers for a joint panel to be held at the Congress of the
Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Toronto/Ryerson
University, 25 May - 1 June 2002. Papers that address any aspect and/or
genre of Canadian Jewish writing - poetry, prose, drama, literary
journalism - are welcome. We are interested especially in papers that
consider the shifting quality of "Canadian Jewishness" as it has been
articulated in writing of the twentieth century. Papers that address
representations of the Jew and Jewish culture in works by Canadian
writers are also welcome.
Please send a 300-word abstract (as well as a 50-word biography) by 15
