CALL FOR PAPERS: Poetry and Fiction Readings
for the Mexico Meeting of the Popular Culture Association in
conjunction with the 5th Annual Congress, UDLA, October 17-20, 2001.
Searching for original poetry and fiction for the Poetry and Fiction
Readings Area. This includes portions of novels, novellas, biographies,
and translations of previously published works. Any language is
acceptable, but 500-word translations of core messages are required for
presentations not in English.
Here is an opportunity to present your work to an international audience
of writers, artists, and scholars from all over the Americas, Europe,
and Asia who share their work, analyses of books, films, radio, images
of men and women; another strand looks at NAFTA and the developing
economic and political situation for the Americas. Plenary sessions
have simultaneous translations via ear pieces.
Please join us to share your poetry or fiction in beautiful Puebla,
Mexico on the campus of The University of the Americas of Cholula-Puebla
October 17-21, 2001. We take the Walt Whitman approach to cultural
studies and contain multitudes. Participants are expected to register
upon acceptance of presentations.
Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2001.
