Animal Rights Issues
SW-TX PCA/ACA Conference
Albuquerque, New Mexico
February 13-17, 2002
Sample topics are:
--representations of animals in children's and adult literature
--philosophical arguments about vegetarianism, vivisection, and
inclusion of nonhuman animals in the human community
--history of animal rights movements
--legal aspects of animal rights
--documentation of abuse in domestic, farm, lab, and wild sites
and dissemination of this information in the popular media
--analysis of rhetoric about animals in daily life and in
humane society publications
The 2002 meeting of the SW-TX PCA/ACA will be at the
Albuquerque Hilton near the U of New Mexico campus.
Special events are planned for the meeting and any
modern language is welcome for presentations. For details
