    CALL FOR PAPERS

    for a special session on Cormac McCarthy's work in its political
    ramifications, for the joint meeting of the PCA/ACA, MARCH 13-16, 2002,
    SHERATON CENTRE, TORONTO, CANADA

    Proposal for papers on the political implications and politics of Cormac
    McCarthy's works are invited for submission to the area chair for the ACA,
    "Literature and Politics" sessions.

    I am looking for papers which address the difficult issues of border
    politics, political correctness (and post-correctness), gender limitations,
    depictions of indigenous cultures, interpretations of U.S. history, and
    other political aspects of McCarthy's fiction. The session will be one of
    the "Literature and Politics" panels for the 2002 ACA meeting.

    The 2002 Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association joint
    meeting will be held at the Sheraton Centre, Toronto, Canada on March 13-16,
    2002.

    DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2001

    Please submit one page abstracts with paper title, presenter's complete
    name, academic affiliation and address (including zip), phone numbers, and
    valid email address. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

    Submit abstracts by September 15th to:
