    INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR PAPERS
    DEADLINE: October 1st, 2001

    “Black Culture’s Global Impact”

            The Fall 2001 issue of The Black Arts Quarterly will
    seek to answer the questions: “How has Black culture
    impacted the globe?” “How has Black culture influenced
    the various cultures of our world?” “How have Black
    cultural icons affected our lives around the world?”
    We encourage papers on the many aspects of Black
    culture and art, including: music, performance,
    poetry, sculpture, painting, and various other forms
    of cultural expression.
            Academic analyses, as well as essays, poetry,
    artwork, photography, and other forms of prose will be
    considered. Please access BAQ back issues at
    www.stanford.edu/group/CPBA/BAQ.html.
            With regard to submissions, send photographs of
    visual submissions (and if possible, a disk with the
    picture of your art scanned onto it in gif, jpeg, or
    pict format) with a self-addressed, stamped envelope
    to ensure return after review. All submissions must be
    accompanied by a 2-4 sentence author bio. Literary
    submissions are to be in Microsoft Word format, and
    can be attached via e-mail to writealim@yahoo.com.
