Writing Workshop Revisited: Research and Theory into Practice

Employing a workshop approach in composition courses was once a novel idea.
Now, years later, many instructors have successfully adopted this approach,
while others continue to shy away from it. What are the comparative
advantages and disadvantages of structuring composition courses in this
way? What have we learned about what works or does not work in the
classroom? What methods and approaches have we found most successful? How
can we evaluate their effectiveness? Have we explored the limits of the
writing workshop in college composition courses, or have we only scratched
    the surface?

Papers should examine how research and theory on writing workshops
    influences our teaching practice.
