CALL FOR PAPERS
TELEVISION SITCOMS
SW-TX PCA/ACA CONFERENCE
ALBUQUERQUE, NM
FEB. 13-17, 2002
The suggested theme for this year's panels: "View From a Recliner: Past,
Present, and Future of Television's Sitcoms"
Topics can be on far-ranging elements of the sitcom:
· structure
· characterization
· ambience
· setting
· dialogue
· societal values
· ensemble
· history
· trends
· milestones
There is particular interest in presentations that would tie together any
of these two areas (or any other two areas). For example, a presenter might
want to show how "structure" dictates "character" in M*A*S*H, or "setting"
reveals "trend" in Cheers.
The 2002 meeting of the SW-TX PCA/ACA will be held at the Albuquerque
Hilton near the UNM campus. For more information about the conference, use
