    The Fantastic in Popular Culture and Visual Arts
    Division of the International Association for the
    Fantastic in the Arts is seeking submissions for the
    23rd International Conference on the Fantastic in the
    Arts, which will be held from March 20-23, 2002 at the
    Fort Lauderdale Airport Hilton.

    The themes of this year’s conference are the Fantastic
    for Young People and the Fantastic in the Visual Arts.
     While presentations in either of these areas (or in
    places they intersect) are encouraged, proposals on
    any aspect of the fantastic in popular
    culture--comics/graphic novels, visual arts,
    architecture, photography, and computer-based art
    (e.g., digital imagery, hypertext, and
    hypermedia)--are also welcome.

    The deadline for submission of individual proposals,
    paper sessions, or panel discussions is 15 October
    2001. Proposals should include a 500-word abstract
    and appropriate bibliography indicating the project's
    scholarly or theoretical context.
