Call for Submissions
Contributors are sought for a forthcoming volume on comics in Spanish. As
the volume is intended for an English-speaking audience, submittals should
be in English. The collection aims to critically assess an ample range of
Spanish, Latin American, and Latino cartoonists and graphic humorists. Of
particular interest will be essays on comic strips and books, editorial
cartoons, syndicated features, and graphic novels, in addition to
reflections on their impact on matters of gender, identity, class, and
politics. The aim of this call is particularly interdisciplinary; i.e.,
scholars from all disciplines are encouraged to participate.
Please send a 300-word abstract and brief bio for further consideration by
01/31/02. The submission date for initial drafts will be 6/30/02.
