including the Writing Center Issues area, has been extended to November 10,
2001.
In addition, the Texas Tech Graduate English Society is pleased to announce
our keynote speaker, Cheryl Glenn, who will be presenting on the conference
theme.
The Texas Tech Graduate English Society (GES) will be hosting its seventh
annual conference, “Past and Future Perspectives: Negotiating Our Changing
Field,” February 22-23, 2002.
Graduate students are invited to submit print or electronic abstracts and
panel presentation proposals on theory, practice, and trends in writing
center issues. Abstracts/Proposals (250 words) and inquiries should be

E-mail submissions are strongly encouraged. Please put “GES Conference” in
the subject line for all electronic submissions.
Other important information:
Participants may present no more than two papers or be on no more than two
panels.
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Acceptance notification will be no later than December 1, 2001.
