    7th Annual Pacific Rim Literary Conference
    "Expanding the Text, Imagining the Future"
    February 22-23, 2002
    Submission Deadline (Extended): Postmarked by November 23, 2001

    The Nov. 1 deadline for the Pacific Rim Literary Conference (PRLC) has
    been extended to Nov. 23, 2001.

    Additionally, the journal COLLEGE LITERATURE has invited PRLC
    presenters to submit papers on the topic of Technology & Literature.
    Editors of COLLEGE LITERATURE are interested in publishing a special
    edition, generated from the conference. Suggested paper topics could
    include but are not limited to the following: the ways science and
    technology influence literature; imagery in science fiction;
    representations of the cyborg/posthuman; postmodernism and complexity
    theory.

    Presenting on the topic of science and technology in literature is
    encourage, although we will consider all papers and panels pertaining
    to Literature, Rhetoric, and Literary Studies.

    Please direct abstracts of 300 words (email preferred) to conference
