    University of British Columbia, Vancouver
    6 - 8 March, 2002

    CALL FOR PAPERS
    "Critical I/Eye: Rethinking Cores, Peripheries, and Boundaries"

    Deadline for Submission of Abstracts:
    JANUARY 3, 2002

    We invite graduate students of all arts and humanities programs to submit
    papers to this year's UBC Arts Graduate Students' Conference. Papers
    should address issues in fields such as interdisciplinary studies,
    cultural and literary theory, language studies, geography, art history,
    history, philosophy, anthropology, and psychology.

    Please submit a one-page abstract (MLA style) of your presentation and a
    short biography. Your biography should provide your email address and
    phone number, the title of your paper, your name, program, year of study,
    research interests, and any other information you would like to provide.

    Your presentation should not exceed 20 minutes (approx. 8-10 pages in MLA
    format). We also welcome group submissions in the form of topically
    organized panels.

    We will notify successful submissions by email. Please submit your
    abstract and biography electronically, either as attachments in Rich Text
    Format, or in the body of your email. Our email address is
