Call for Papers for a proposed special session at SCMLA 2002, Austin, TX,
    10/31/02-11/2/02. Abstracts due 1/15/02.

Working Women in the Age of Industrialization

Papers should focus on any aspect of working women or women's work (either
inside or outside of the home) in the late nineteenth and early twentieth
centuries. In the spirit of the "Global Contexts" conference theme, papers
which make cross-cultural connections or comparisons are especially
welcome, though all papers will be considered.

Papers suitable for a 20 minute presentation may discuss literature written
in any language, but abstracts and papers must be written in English.

If accepted for inclusion in the conference, panelists must be SCMLA
    members by 5/15/02.

Please notify me if you are submitting to more than one panel at SCMLA 2002.

500 word abstracts by January 15, 2002 to Jeffrey W. Miller, Department of
English, 131 Humanities, University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, TN,
    38238.
Email submissions to jmiller@utm.edu (Microsoft Word attachments or
abstract in text of message), fax to 731-587-7276.
