    "British Writers and the End of Empire"

    In the wake of victory over fascism, British colonial writers confronted a
    new crisis: the end of empire and the reimagining of British identities
    across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. How do post-World
    War II colonial novels trace the unravelling margins of British political
    and cultural hegemony and the emerging identities of the postcolonial?
