    Centre for Early Modern Studies, series on Translatio in Europe and the
    Atlantic World, 1500-1750
    The Iberian connection, May 18th, 2002

    We invite abstracts for 20 minute papers on the movement of people and
    ideas between the Iberian world and Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales
    during the Early Modern period. We actively encourage submissions across a
    broad disciplinary range.

    Possible areas of interest could include, but are not limited to:

    The translation of Spanish literature into insular languages
    Peninsular romance in insular settings
    Peninsular drama on the English stage
    Irish, Scottish and English scholars in Spanish contexts
    The place of Spain in early modern Irish political thought and historiography
    Accounts of the Armada in Irish and English sources
    Aspects of trade between the Iberian world and Scotland, Ireland, England,
    Wales

    Please submit 200-word abstracts along with contact information by March
