    CALL FOR PAPERS: "Shakespeare and film" (deadline: 2/15/02; conference
    dates: April 5-6, 2002)

    This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be held at "Disjunctions:
    the center does not hold," the University of California, Riverside's 9th
    Annual Humanities Conference.

    Contributors are invited to submit papers on any aspect of Shakespeare and
    film, including (but not limited to) the following topics:
    -adapting Shakespeare for modern audiences
    -modern representations of Shakespeare's characters
    -the portrayal of Shakespeare himself in films
    -using cultural studies to understand Shakespeare's plays
    -parodies of Shakespeare in film

    One page abstracts should be emailed to: disjunctions@hotmail.com by
    February 15, 2002 (text in the body of the message; please no attachments).
    The submissions should be no longer than 250 words. If sending by mail, use
