Alfred Hitchcock has been the focus of intense and sustained critical
scrutiny. However, this focus often encompasses only his Hollywood films.
With the exception of "Blackmail," "The Lady Vanishes," and "The 39
Steps," Hitchcock's British films have received very little attention.
I am looking for one paper to round out a pre-approved special topic panel
at the Rocky Mountain regional MLA meetings in Scottsdale, Arizona, 10-12
October. Papers can cover a wide range of possibilities (Hitchcock's
later films, the literary backgrounds of his films, non-Hitchcock films),
but only as they apply specifically to his British films ("The Lodger" up
to "Jamaica Inn"). Please email contract information and abstract of no
more than 250 words to andrhowe@lasierra.edu or ahowe@mail.ucr.edu no
later than February 25. Attachments are fine.
