CFP: From Around the Globe: Secular Authors and Biblical
Perspectives(collection) (Sat. 5/25/02)
Calls for Papers
Contributors are sought to submit papers for a collection of
critical essays on secular or religious writers of fiction,
poetry, prose, or drama from around the Globe. We are interested
in critical examinations of literature from the East and West,
the North and South. Essays could discuss allusions, or direct
references, that authors make to the Bible. Biblical tales,
characters, parables, lessons, poetry, prose, dramatic elements,
themes, issues, ideology, ancient practices, the relationship
between the Bible and world literature, the authors' use — or
misuse — of the Bible, are among the numerous topics to be
considered. Contributions may include traditional or appropriate
contemporary critical practices, and they need not be limited to
single authors, texts, or the canon. Submit a 250-word proposal
either via post or email in WordPerfect, MS Word, or RTF format
by May 25, 2002.
