Toys and Games
Please submit 150-word abstracts for presentations and papers on toys
and games, including board games, traditional games like Chess, card
games, collectible card games, role-playing games like Dungeons and
Dragons, video arcade games, home video game systems, action figures,
collecting toys, licensed film and television toys, Japanese toys,
transforming robots, virtual pets, cell phone games, CheapAss Games,
drinking games, and so on and so forth…
Possible areas of inquiry or exploration include the use of games in
education, the role of games in socialization, the folklore and myths
about role-playing games and video games, the phenomenon of feature
films licensed from video and role-playing games, intermedia
relationships and remediation of games, the development of New Media
within the gaming and entertainment industries, the economics of game
production, the growth of the gaming industry or industries, etc.
