A one-day conference organized by the Cambridge Project for the Book
Trust.
This conference will examine literary culture in London from the
mid-seventeenth
century to the mid-nineteenth century. Papers and contributions are
requested
from researchers and scholars interested in differing aspects of
literary
culture in London. For instance, the life and work of writers and other
literary
figures, the appreciation and consumption of literature in the capital
and the
work of literary groups, societies and clubs. The organizers also
welcome papers
examining the portrayal of London in literature.
