We are seeking papers addressing the uses of the passions in discourses
of ethics, aesthetics, psychology and medicine from the Renaissance
through the eighteenth century. We are particularly interested in papers
concerning continental as well as British writers. These papers would be
presented as part of a special session at the MLA in New York. The panel
has not yet been approved by the MLA.

Please submit one-page abstract and cv to robert.dimit@nyu.edu and cc to
gabrielle.starr@nyu.edu no later than 25 March.
