    _Anti-Oedipus_: Thirty Years On

Proposal for a Special Session at the MLA Convention,
    December 27-30, 2002.

    Deadline extension:

    March 25, 2002

2002 marks the thirty-year anniversary of the
publication of _Anti-Oedipus_ by French theorists
Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. Their description
of desiring-production in the first chapter succinctly
describes the history of the book's reception:
“functioning smoothly at times, at other times, in
fits and starts”. This panel will assess the myriad
ways in which _Anti-Oedipus_ functions within the
    academy today.

Scholars in all areas of academia are encouraged to
    send 500 word abstracts to:

    Brent M. Blackwell
    Department of English
    Purdue University
    West Lafayette, IN 47907

Or send abstracts via e-mail to:

    ptah38@yahoo.com

Note: All panelists must be MLA members by April 1,
2002, but membership wavers are considered for
    scholars in other disciplines.
