    Call For Papers/Contributions

    Shifting Aesthetics - Disability and Performance

    In November 2002 the University of North London in conjunction with the
    London Arts Board and a number of other arts organisations will be hosting
    a conference. The aim of the conference will be to look at access to
    higher-level, performing arts training opportunities for disabled people
    in the context of: policy (including new legislation, funding, quality);
    practice (examples of successful provision); research (feedback from
    recent research and mapping exercises, and current academic debates around
    'disability aesthetics'). Contributions are invited from
    practitioners/academics/organisations/institutions. Contributions may take
    the form of :

    =B7 A paper relating to any one of the above three areas - Policy/
    Practice/ Aesthetics in Performance
    =B7 A workshop
    =B7 A poster /display outlining and documenting practice/research.
    =B7 Video Documentation
    =B7 A short performance ( approx. 30mins maximum)
    =B7 A roundtable discussion
    =B7 Another form negotiated with the conference organiser

    The deadline for proposals is the 8th May 2002.
