The DeBartolo Conference on Eighteenth-Century Studies will meet on 20-22
Feb. 2003 in Tampa, FL. The topic for this year is the History of
Manners, and I'm putting together a panel on "Breeding." I am looking for
papers that explore the concept of breeding in any genre over the course
of the long eighteenth century; I'm also interested in papers that discuss
manners, breeding and the history of the novel. Please send a 500-word
abstract by 15 September 2002 to Jenny Davidson, Columbia University,
Dept. of English and Comparative Literature, Mail Code 4927, New York, NY
10027; or by e-mail to jmd204@columbia.edu.
