From: Krista Brown (kristabrown@ml1.net)
Date: Fri Jul 12 2002 - 15:21:11 EDT

Several authors from Thomas Pynchon to Don DeLillo have imaginatively
re-constructed California as the sight the ultimate promise and/or
failure of the American dream. Much has been written about California
in the 20th century. This collection will explore American writers
writing California.

Papers which deal with literary interpretations of California are
invited for this collection. Papers should be no longer than 9000
words and sent to kristabrown@ml1.net
