Update: Deadline for submissions has been extended to September 30, 2002.

The American Name Society invites submissions of 150-word abstracts for
presentation at its annual meeting, held in conjunction with MLA, December
27-30, 2002, in New York City.

Papers may address any aspect of names study: personal names, placenames,
names in literature, commercial names, cultural functions of names,
linguistic analysis of names, psychological interpretation of names, etc.
Submissions may propose full panels or individual presentations.

Questions welcome. Abstracts due by September 30, 2002, via email to:
