Call for papers.
Seeking a third paper for a panel tentatively entitled "Expanded Views
of the Witch and Witchcraft" We are looking for a 20 minute
paper/presentation on some aspect of the witch or witchcraft that is not
related to traditions emerging from the British Isles (including what is
generally conceived of as American paganism or Wicca). Panel already
includes a paper on Italian witchcraft and a paper on Medea as witch.
Paper may relate to witches/healers, witchcraft, or healing traditions
of any culture in any time period. Women only submissions please.
Panel will be part of a conference entitled WOMEN'S SPIRITUALITY: BODY
AND SOUL Connecting with an Expanding Community, to be held May 2-4,
2003 in San Francisco, sponsored by the Women's Spirituality Program of
New College of California. For more information about the conference, go
to: http://www.womens-spirituality-conference.org. You must be
available to commit to these dates and to travel and lodge at your own
expense.
Please submit a 1-2 paragraph abstract of your paper (or an idea you are
considering) to Marguerite Rigoglioso, M.A., panel chair, at
mrigoglioso@sbcglobal.net. Feel free to contact her with questions or
to brainstorm ideas. Abstract must be submitted by no later than
September 30, 2002.
