Call for Papers
for a proposed panel entitled
Medicine, Medical Technology, and the Body in the Twentieth Century

Papers are welcome on any aspect of the intersection of medicine,
medical technology, and the body for a panel proposal to be submitted to
the 72nd Anglo-American Conference of Historians to be held 2-4 July
2003 at the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), University of
London:

Papers that focus on materiality of the body/medicine/technology and/or
engage the field of history in connection with material culture studies
are especially welcome.

Please send via email attachment a one-page paper abstract and a
one-page C.V. (including fax, phone, email) to jsr@opfund.org no later
than 1 October 2002. Shortly thereafter, papers will be chosen and sent
to the IHR conference organizers for review. Presenters will be notified
as soon as we know if the proposed panel was chosen for inclusion in the
program.
