The Southern Association for the History of Medicine and Science (SAHMS)
announces a call for papers for its fifth annual meeting to be held
February 21-22, 2003 at Durham, NC. The Southern Association will be
co-hosted by Duke University, Durham, NC and the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Association welcomes papers on history of medicine and science,
broadly construed to include historical, literary, anthropological,
philosophical, and sociological approaches. Participants may propose
individual papers or complete sessions of several papers devoted to a
particular topic or theme.
Please submit a one-page (approximately 250 words) abstract of each
paper and one-page c.v. with phone/fax and e-mail addresses no later than
September 15, 2002. Prospective participants should not submit papers
already published, already presented or scheduled for presentation at
another meeting. Electronic submissions in MS Word or .rtf files are
preferred. The program will be announced by October 15.
