Abstracts (250-500 words) are solicited for a panel on periodicals for
children to be held at the Conference on Modern Critical Approaches to
Children's Literature, 10-12 April 2003 in Nashville, TN. Papers on any
aspect of periodicals for children will be considered, including papers that
examine the periodical as a genre or explore the history, readership,
editorial aims, design, illustration, advertising, and circulation of
periodicals for children. This panel should generate exciting conversations
about the influence of the periodical form on children's literature and on
larger aspects of children's culture. Emailed versions of abstracts and
inquiries are welcome.
