4th Annual Graduate English Association (GEA) Conference
April 11-12, 2003

This conference is intended to investigate "Constant Craving-Consumption in
Literature." The organizers seek papers that explore the following themes,
including but not limited to:

· The Politics of Consumption
· Time Consumption-Time Usage, Time Eaten Away
· Eating-Consuming Food
· Consuming Love-Obsession; Vampirism, etc.
· Conspicuous Consumption-Marxist Theory
· Eco-consumption-Consuming Nature; Being Consumed with Nature
· Consumption-Tuberculosis; Being Consumed by Illness
· Consuming Spaces-Overwhelming Places; Taking up Space; Imperialism
· Consuming Texts-Reading Texts; Absorbing Texts

Submit your 500-word abstract (for a 20-minute presentation) by January 15,
