Call for Materials:

Contributions are being solicited for the inaugural edition of TAXIDERMY, a
multi-disciplinary critical journal devoted to exploring the dark corners
of aesthetics, science, natural phenomena, and theory. All terms are broad
and loosely defined. We welcome art and essays from all approaches that
investigate the widest parameters and frayed edges of these areas with an
eye for the unusual and the unexpected, the troubling or bizarre. Visual
and written work with a scientific edge may be favored. We especially
welcome submissions that investigate academic and theoretical subjects with
playfulness and humor.

The Journal is founded to explore

· representations of science in literature or the visual arts and the
aesthetics of science
· critiques of scientific constructions and manipulations of nature
and natural orders
· scientific or social-scientific aspects of artistic and cultural
practices
· Pseudo-science and it’s relationship to the arts
· Performative practices and the nature of Self
