The Philip Roth Society will be conducting one, perhaps even two, panels
at the 2003 American Literature Association's annual conference in
Cambridge, MA. It welcomes formal submissions on any aspect of Roth's
writings. Two areas of particular interest include the early fiction
which helped to establish Roth's reputation (e.g., "Goodbye, Columbus"
to The Professor of Desire) and his most recent American trilogy.
Papers on one or more of his works that have received relatively little
critical attention are especially welcome.
The Philip Roth Society will also hold its first business meeting at the
2003 ALA, where members will elect officers and vote on a constitution.
All presenters must be members of the Philip Roth Society, and they are
encouraged to participate in these important inaugural business matters.
