Call for papers for the Native American Literature Symposium
20-23 March 2003, Mystic Lake Casino-Hotel, Minneapolis, MN

Panel Proposal: Sovereign Visions: Native American Filmmaking

This session will focus on 20th and 21st century indigenous filmmaking
traditions in the U.S. and Canada. Papers may focus on one or more recent
critically acclaimed films such as "Smoke Signals," "The Business of
Fancydancing," The Fast Runner (Atanarjuat)" or less well known films by
filmmakers such as Thirza Cuthand, James Diamond, Valerie Red Horse, or
Randy Redroad.

Send proposals of 150 to 300 words by November 25 by attachment or in text
