CALL FOR PAPERS

The Elizabeth Madox Roberts Society is issuing a call for papers for a panel
on Roberts to be held at the meeting of the American Literature Association
in Cambridge, MA on May 22-25, 2003. Proposals are welcome on any aspect of
Roberts work. Suggested topics include but are not limited to:

--Roberts in the Context of Southern literature

--Roberts and Other Writers (i.e. Roberts and Faulkner, Roberts and Warren)

--Roberts and Southern Agrarianism

--Roberts's Literary and Stylistic Influences (i.e. Synge, Hardy, Joyce,
Homer, Beethoven)

--Roberts and Modernism

--Roberts and the Novel

--Roberts and Regionalism

--Roberts and the Politics of Literary Reputation

--Roberts and Feminism

--Roberts and Kentucky

Papers should be between fifteen and twenty minutes long. One page abstracts
are due by January 25, 2003, and should be sent via regular mail or e-mail
