Hawthorne and the Culture of the Family. (Nathaniel Hawthorne Society
panel at ALA). Twenty minute papers are invited that will discuss
Hawthorne's representations of husbands and wives, parents and children,
and of siblings to one another in one or more of his novels, tales, or
sketches. Reconsideration is invited of Hawthorne's view of
