Eighteenth-Century Satire and Burlesque

Proposals (300 words) for papers on eighteenth-century satire and
burlesque are invited for the Fourth William Collins Society conference to
take place in Chester from 20-21 July 2003 (dates to be confirmed).
Special emphasis will be on the contrasting of ‘established’ satirists
like Pope and Swift and lesser known satirists or writers of burlesque
like William Shenstone, Christopher Anstey and William King. A thematic
volume of the proceedings will be published.

Please send your proposals as Word or RTF documents to Sandro Jung, at
Sandro.Jung@btinternet.com

You will be notified by the beginning of April 2003 whether you paper has
been selected by the organizing committee.
