I would like to draw your attention to the Third International
Convention of Asia Scholars, held in Singapore from 19-22 August 2003.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Asia Research Institute,
National University of Singapore, are pleased to announce the Third
International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS3):

Date: 19-22 August 2003
Venue: Raffles City Convention Centre,
Swissotel The Stamford, Singapore

The ICAS3 Organising Committee invites proposals for organised panels,
individual papers, poster presentations and special meetings on all
aspects of Asia research.

Organised Panels should consist of either three or four papers, with the
addition of a chairperson and/or discussant at the organiser's
discretion. Please provide a title and brief description of the panel,
250-word abstracts (in English) for each paper, and the names and
institutional affiliations of all panel participants. Each panel will
have one hour and forty-five minutes to present, inclusive of question
time.

Proposals may also be made for Individual Papers. Please provide a
title, 250-word abstract, and your name and affiliation. Because the
Programme Committee must organise all papers into panels, please state
your preference for a panel based on theme, geography, or
discipline/methodology. The Programme Committee cannot guarantee,
however, that such requests will be accommodated. Individual
presentations should run no longer than 20 minutes, excluding time for
questions.

Proposals for Poster Presentations should provide a 250-word description
of the research project and the names and institutional affiliations of
the presenters. Posters in any language can be displayed, but proposals
must be submitted in English.

We will also welcome proposals for Special Meetings - seminars or
discussions which fall outside the panel format as described above.
These could range from roundtable discussions, video presentations, to
organisational meetings. Please provide a title, 250-word description
and the names and institutional affiliations of participants. Each
meeting will have one hour and forty-five minutes. Click here to submit
for Special Meetings.

Please indicate as well your audio/visual needs (overhead/slide
projector, LCD projector, etc.).
