Living Toys
What happens when toys come alive? Possible topics: puppets, dolls, toy
soldiers. No animals, please. Preference for papers that cross
disciplinary and/or cultural boundaries; particular interest in the fin
de siècle (roughly and broadly defined as 1880-1920). 500-word abstract
and brief cv by 1 Mar 2003 to Kay Chubbuck (chubbuck_at_princeton.edu).
Please include suggestions of any audio-visual possibilities for your
paper.
Important: this is a proposed special session for the MLA in San Diego,
Dec 27-30, 2003. Panelists must be members of the MLA by 1 April or the
panel will not be considered. Please realize that many of these panels
are not accepted, and acceptance to the panel does not mean acceptance
of the panel at the MLA. For this reason, please include in your
application if you are already a member - or could become a member - of
the MLA.
