South Atlantic Modern Language Association
Conference in Atlanta, Georgia

"Serious Scholarship and Academic Hocus Pocus:
Conjuring Harry Potter into the Canon"

The Harry Potter novels are not just children's literature
-- they are full of those things that we teach and talk
about everyday in the classroom: myths, legends, allusions,
history, . . . Conjure a topic . . .

Submissions should be eight to ten (8-10) typed pages with
an anticipated reading time of fifteen to twenty minutes.

Please submit as an e-mail attachment (in Microsoft Word
for Windows or Macintosh) one copy of the completed paper
or a two-three page abstract to challett_at_bennett.edu
