Call For Papers: “Renaissance Drama” (deadline:
2/14/03; conference dates: April 11-12, 2003)
This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be
held at “(Dis)Junctions: Morphing the Written Word”,
the University of California Riverside’s Tenth Annual
Graduate Humanities Conference.
Contributors are invited to submit papers on any
aspect relating to drama and dramatic production in
Renaissance England. Possible topics may include (but
certainly are not limited to):
--The role of the theater in Renaissance politics and
society.
--Performing gender.
--Articulating culture and national identity.
--Artistic collaboration and competition.
--Masques and courtly entertainments.
--Representations of the magical and supernatural.
--Representations of religion and religious conflicts.
Abstracts of approximately 250 words may be emailed
(text in the body of the message) to:
