This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be held at
"(Dis)junctions: Morphing the Written Word," the University
of California at Riverside's 10th Annual Humanities
Conference. It will take place April 11-12, 2003. For more

Contributors are invited to submit abstracts about
conjugated oppressions in the Victorian period. What are the
connections between issues of race, class, gender, and
sexuality? How do either writers or characters navigate
these oppressions? Do these conditions merely cause
problems, or do they afford room for the possibility for
power? All disciplines and approaches are welcome.
