Genre Bending: Twentieth Century Performance and Performativity Across
Genres
This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be held at “(Dis)Junctions:
Morphing the Written Word” at the University of California Riverside’s 10th
Annual Humanities Conference on April 11-12, 2003.
Contributors are invited to submit papers on any aspect of twentieth century
performance/performativity across genres including (but not limited to) the
following topics:
-Investigation of the intersections of twentieth century performance and
performativity in literature, dance, visual arts, poetry, theater, and/or
film.
-Exploration of the distinction between performance and performativity in
theory and/or practice in the twentieth century as it pertains to works
written or performed across genres.
One page abstracts of 250 words should be emailed to
disjunctionspanels_at_hotmail.com by February 14, 2003. Text should be
included in the body of the email; please no attachments. For more
