Panel on Henry James and French Literature
Modern Language Association, December 27-30 2003, San Diego, California
Abstracts are requested for papers on any aspect of the relationship between
Henry James's work and French literature, including James's essays on French
writers; the English and American cultural background to these essays; links
or contrasts between James's narrative theory or practice and his views on
the French nineteenth-century novel; allusions to and rewritings of French
literary texts in his fiction or drama; critical attention to the influence
of French literature on James.
