Call for Papers
Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA)
Annual Convention, November 7-9, 2003
Scripps College, Claremont, CA
I am seeking proposals for a panel on Literature and Ethics. I will
consider any paper proposal on this general topic, but I am
particularly interested in seeing proposals for papers that explore
*the ethics of narrative, or the question of whether narrative itself
has an ethical dimension,
*the relationship between ethical and political perspectives, and
*the relationship between ethical and poststructuralist perspectives.
Generally, I prefer papers that focus on specific texts rather than
those that elaborate purely theoretical discussions.
Please submit a proposal of 500 words as well as a 50-word abstract
by March 15 to Pamela Demory (phdemory_at_ucdavis.edu).
Email submissions preferred.
Presenters must be members of PAMLA by April 15, 2003.
