This proposed panel for the Fifth Annual Modernist Studies Association
Conference In Birmingham, UK seeks to explore ways in which modern writers
felt public/political movements, terminology, concepts, sensibilities, etc.
to be inadequate tools for expressing private (sexual, aesthetic,
religious, etc.) concerns. Papers on Bloomsbury and its satellite figures
especially welcome. Submissions in the form of 300-word abstracts, by
