This call for papers originates from the Rocky Mountain Modern Language
Association (RMMLA) for the upcoming 2003 Convention--October 9-11 in
Missoula, Montana. The topic, "Flannery O'Connor: Comparatively Speaking,"
is intended to give a broad range to scholars wishing to present. For
instance, Flannery O'Connor might be viewed in contrast to a particular
writer or writers from her own time frame, venue, style, etc. Her religious
politics might be examined in light of current religious and/or political
movements. Or compare the 1950's Flannery O'Connor with how she might be
writing today, based on the direction you see her moving towards at the end
of her life.

All proposals are due by March 22nd; they should include a title and
300-word paper abstract, and they will be selected by March 31st. You do
not have to be a member of RMMLA to submit a paper, but all presenters must
be members of RMMLA and may join by going to http://rmmla.wsu.edu. Please
let me know about any audio-visual equipment needs by May 1. Send
submission to Jill Zasadny: jzasadny_at_sytekcom.com
