The Eleventh Annual COMICS ARTS CONFERENCE (CAC)

San Diego, CA, USA.

Thursday – Sunday, July 17-20, 2003

The Comics Arts Conference invites abstracts for papers, panels, poster
sessions, and slide talks for a joint meeting of scholars and professionals,
held in conjunction with the San Diego Comic-Con International. We also
invite scholars and professionals to participate as respondents to
presentations.

The Conference is designed to bring together comics scholars, professionals,
critics, and historians who wish to promote or engage in serious study of
the medium, and to do so in a forum that includes the public. The agenda
will include paper presentations, round table discussions, symposia, and
slide talks, typically including participation by both scholars and
professionals on each panel.

We seek proposals from a broad range of disciplinary and theoretical
perspectives, and welcome the participation of academic, independent, and
fan scholars. We welcome professionals from all areas of the comics
industry, including creators, editors, publishers, retailers, distributors,
and journalists.
