Nations, Traditions and Cross-Cultural Identities (Naples, Italy) (4/1/03;
6/26/03-6/27/03)

The Fourth European Intertexts Conference will take place on the 26th and 27th
of June 2003 at the University of Naples, Italy. This conference is part of an
ongoing project, funded by the British Academy, on European Intertexts: A Study
of Womens Writing in English as Part of a European Fabric. The aim of the
project is to co-ordinate individual research on womens writing in English as
it relates to specific European cultures, or alternatively on womens writing
in other European languages as it relates to Anglophone culture. This years
conference will focus on the topic of Nations, Traditions and Cross-Cultural
Identities within the broad outlines of the main project. Speakers this year
include Angela Leighton and Susan Stanford Friedman.

We now welcome proposals for fifteen-minute papers to be delivered at the
conference. A selection of essays based on papers delivered at the conference
is due to be published as part of a series of five volumes.

Proposals of 200 words to be sent to Professor Annamaria Lamarra
<anmalam_at_libero.it> or to Ana Maria Sanchez <A.M.Sanchez-
Arce_at_english.hull.ac.uk> before the first of APRIL 2003. Decision on acceptance
by mid-April 2003.
